A Scottish family-owned watch retailer, said to be home to Scotland’s biggest range of pre-owned Rolexes, has given its showroom a major makeover to mark 35 years since the store first opened.
Tom Coll Jewellery is celebrating its milestone birthday with a refurbishment of its fourth-floor showroom and workshop premises in Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade.
The business has invested £200,000 in the makeover project, which took four months to complete and included additional product display areas, a new-look larger workbench layout, staff kitchen and refurbished back office area.
The business has also launched its first specially produced 12-page magazine outlining its services and focusing on its craftsmen who work in the workshop.
Tom Coll Jewellery was founded by Tom Coll and his son Steven Coll back in 1984. Both had long careers in the jewellery business working for other firms before taking the decision to go it alone.
Although Tom has since retired the family connection remains strong with managing director, Steven Coll and his two sons Kieran and Jonathan working in the six-strong team.
Steven Coll shares: “We felt that the 35th birthday was a good reason to give our showroom and our workshop a new look and the response to both has been hugely positive. Customers arriving for a first visit always say they’re well impressed by the place and say it’s amazing that we’re tucked away on the fourth floor. We like to think of ourselves as a bit of a hidden secret.”
