Schofield to unveil Blacklamp Carbon at SalonQP

By Hallie Engel

The Schofield Watch Company will launch the Blacklamp Carbon, at SalonQP 2013.

Over a year of research went into developing Morta – the proprietary material of the hand-wound Blacklamp Carbon – which is hand-laid and made into small billets. One billet is used to create one Blacklamp watch case, making each one unique.

Limited to only 101 pieces, every Blacklamp Carbon is named after a different English lighthouse and is denoted by the location coordinates of the tower and character of the flash from the lamp within. Each watch also contains aTritium gas light, which creates a constant low level glow. Moonglow, a material developed by NASA, illuminates the watch’s dial in the dark.

The watch will be showcased at consumer watch show SalonQP, which takes place at the Saatchi Gallery in London from November 7 to 9.
