Russell Crowe has announced on Twitter that he will be auctioning off over half of his watch collection.
In a series of tweets, Mr Crowe revealed that 29 of his watches, 21 of which are chronographs will be going up for auction on April 7 in Sydney.
Mr Crowe assured his 2 million Twitter followers more information is coming as April draws closer. He also assured that the biddings can be done online and thus anywhere in the world.
“He promised in a later tweet that each watch sale would come with a signed letter, both authenticating the piece and offering a brief anecdote about its origins.” he revealed to Hollywood Reporter.

Mr Crowe also revealed the extensive list of luxury timepieces on offer includes models from Panerai, Rolex, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, Chopard, Breitling, Omega, IWC, Asprey, Chanel and others.
Details of which auction house will be handling the sale have not yet been disclosed.
