Rox lifts watch offer with new Edinburgh store

The latest store opening from Rox signifies a push from the Scottish retailer into the high-end watch market.

The watch and jewellery retailer has enjoyed success with mid-market fashion brands but as it opens the doors to a new £1 million shop in the city’s Assembly Rooms it has upped the RRPs in its watch section significantly by adding brands such as Hublot, Corum and Girard-Perregaux to its offer.

This trio of brands – each of which is exclusive to Rox in Scotland – will sit alongside a wide variety of other watch brands including Raymond Weil, Frederique Constant, Michael Kors, Oris and Gucci.

The 2,500 sq ft Edinburgh store, which officially launched last night with a party co-hosted by the retailer and watch brand Raymond Weil, has been fitted with a champagne bar sponsored by Laurent-Perrier. The bar is located in a section of the store called the Thrill Room, a space designed to entertain clients in a similar fashion to the upper level of its store in Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade.

Rox managing director Kyron Keogh said: “We’re delighted to officially launch our new store in Edinburgh. We are offering the ultimate luxury shopping experience for diamond lovers and luxury watch connoisseurs. This really is diamonds and thrills.”

About 300 guests were invited to the launch party at the store last night, which was co-hosted by long-term partner Raymond Weil and was attended by a number of celebrities, including music star Labrinth who performed on the night.

Canapes were provided by the store’s neighbour Jamie’s Italian, cocktails created by Sloane’s Gin, the Grey Goose Passionista and Schiehallion Lager were served and guests had the opportunity to win a Raymond Weil watch, a luxury hamper from beauty brand Kiehls and a weekend in a Maserati with cream tea for two at Carberry Tower courtesy of Graypaul Ferrari Edinburgh.

Guests at the event included Capital FM’s Des and Jennie, Miss Scotland 2012 Nicole Treacy, TV and radio presenter Cat Cubie, Big Brother finalist Sara McLean and Apprentice star Laura Hogg.
