Round-the-world pilot to sell watch for charity

Pilot Dave McElroy has completed an 80-day round-the-world charity flight in a single-engine light aircraft wearing a wristwatch that will now be sold off for charity.

The Pangbourne DP01, donated by Pangbourne London and worn during the FlyRTW80 charity circumnavigation of the globe, will now be sold off to raise further funds for the Scottish Air Ambulance.

McElroy completed the feat in a Piper Comanche single-engine light aircraft with co-pilot Chris Elgar.

The aerial expedition covered more than 42,000 nautical miles, 60 airports, 25 countries and six continents over the course of 80 days.

The Pangbourne LondonDP-01 was designed and manufactured by Daniel Pangbourne as a cockpit instrument for pilots and the watch’s UTC 24hr function and circular flight computer is sure to aid flight planning and inflight calculations.

The watch will be on display at the Pangbourne London stand at Salon QP, at the Saatchi Gallery in November, and is available to purchase for £9,705 with a certificate of authenticity signed by Dave McElroy.
