Rotary raises money for Chelsea Pensioners

British watchmaker donates timepieces to an auction raising money for The Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Rotary is continuing with its support for the UK’s armed forces veterans beyond Remembrance Day with an event at The Royal Hospital Chelsea where Chelsea Football Club captain Gary Cahill donated 10 Rotary watches to Pensioners.

Rotary has already raised money this year for the Royal British Legion by donating money from the sale of special watches for the charity.

Chelsea Pensioners were honoured for their service with 10 Rotary watches donated to an auction that will raise money for the Royal Hospital where they live.

Gary Cahill said at the event: “It was an honour to meet the Chelsea Pensioners and to be shown their beautiful home. There was great banter all round and I enjoyed talking to the veterans about their Army experiences and of course, their love of football! I have deep respect for those who sacrifice so much for our country and I’m glad that I, along with Rotary watches, can support these well-deserving veterans.”
