Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual is the lowest cost entry point to the Swiss watchmaker’s seductive world and often bypassed in the rush to score a first Submariner.
This year Rolex has given the collection a starring role with a larger sized 41mm style featuring either a black or silvery-white sunray dial. A family of gender-neutral 36mm models come in a range of bold dial colours.
The watches go on sale this month for between £4,050 and £4,700.
Both the 41mm and 36mm collections use the new chronometer-rated calibre 3230 that is also adopted by the steel Submariner launching today, giving you all of the accuracy and dependability of a Sub at a significant saving. The automatic movement has a power reserve of around 70 hours.
The only compromise, from a technical standpoint, is that the Submariner is rated waterproof to 300 metres while the Oyster Perpetual is rated to 100 metres.
Today’s Oyster Perpetual 41 has a silver, sunray-finish dial with hands and hour markers in 18ct yellow gold. A bright black sunray-finish dial version has hands and hour markers in 18ct white gold.
Smaller Oyster Perpetual 36 models come with lacquer dials in a choice of candy pink, turquoise blue, yellow, coral red and green.
All watches come on Oystersteel Oyster bracelets with their folding Oysterclasp and the Easylink comfort extension link.
I thought you could get all the sizes in all the colours! Certainly the OP41…
