Roger Dubuis and racing partner Lamborghini roar into Harrods for summer promotion

Roger Dubuis has its only UK boutique inside the Fine Watch Room at Harrods, and is spending July raising its profile at the Knightsbridge, London, department store by hosting an exhibition in conjunction with its motor racing partner Lamborghini Squadra Corse.

The installation, which runs through to July 28, uses a 360 degree design concept inspired by the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Skeleton and the motor sport universe.

Visitors will see Excalibur Aventador S models, developed in collaboration with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The watches are made from the same C-SMC carbon that is used on Lamborghini’s cars, and driven by a powerful ‘engine’ resembling Lamborghini’s Aventador.

The display will include the recently launched Excalibur Aventador S Blue and Excalibur Aventador S Pink Gold, the newest additions to the line up.

With the end of Ramadan and Eid in June and the mercury touching 50 degrees in the Gulf States, the summer influx of Middle Eastern millionaires to London is in full swing.

This may not be a record-breaking summer for London’s most iconic department store because of a long-running political dispute between Qatar on one side, whose sovereign wealth fund owns Harrods, and the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on the other, whose citizens are showing support for their rulers’ by boycotting Qatari organisations.

Roger Dubuis and Harrods will be hoping that the pulling power of a Lamborghini Huracán Evo, which is being shown for the firs time in the UK, will be irresistible to this key target market.
