Roger Dubuis claims three world firsts for its Excalibur Twofold

Ice-white skeletonised limited edition uses mineral composite fibre for its case and bezel, a material never before used in watchmaking.

Roger Dubuis’ ice-white skeletonised Excalibur Twofold uses mineral composite fibre for its case and bezel, a material never before seen in watchmaking.

That is not limited edition watch’s only claim to a world-first. When the lights go out, the watch is lit up with luminescent facets on its movement and on its rubber strap.

“The Excalibur Twofold is a perfect example of our conception of art technologies and innovation,” says Roger Dubuis CEO Nicola Andreatta.

“Focusing on that innovation, three world premieres were introduced with this incredible timepiece: a new ultra-white composite material, luminescent angles on the caliber and luminescent rubber on the strap. We exploited them as artistic features to showcase, once again, the most exciting way to experience haute horlogerie.”

Only eight pieces are being made of the 45mm open-worked watch with two flying tourbillons spinning within the manual wind RD01SQ skeletonised movement.”

It will go on sale at Roger Dubuis boutiques for $276,000.
