RJC certification for IWC and Panerai

The business practices of two Richemont watch brands have been endorsed by the Responsible Jewellery Council.

Panerai and IWC were both audited by third party companies accredited by the RJC Code of Practices which looks at responsible business practices for diamonds, gold and platinum group metals, addresses human rights, labour rights, environmental impact, mining practices and product disclosure.

Angelo Bonati, CEO of Officine Panerai, commented: “I take great pride in the certification awarded to Panerai by the Responsible Jewellery Council. Our company has a long and honourable history, a story of enormous passion and human values that we have always put before any business considerations. Over the years, we have steadfastly upheld the highest ethical standards in our work, in the belief that adhering to these values would also ensure that we achieved the highest professional standards of quality.”
Panerai’s audit took in the brand’s Swiss headquarters and manufacturing facilities, marketing and communications department in Milan and retail boutiques around the world. IWC was audited on its Swiss headquarters and two manufacturing facilities as well as its international boutiques.

Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, said: “As a globally successful company, we take corporate social responsibility seriously and believe that it is our duty to perform due diligence to supply chains and to cooperate with companies that uphold the same values and principles as our own. IWC is proud to be confirmed in its mission to continue establishing and strengthening a responsible and accountable corporate culture.”

Panerai and IWC joins the ranks of more than 460 member companies of the international, not-for-profit Responsible Jewellery Council that span the jewellery and watch supply chain.
