Richemont replaces Montblanc watches managing director

Richemont has appointed Laurent Lecamp as managing director  of Montblanc’s watch division, replacing Davide Cerrato who held the role for five years.

He is said to be pursuing new professional challenges outside the Richemont group.

Mr Lecamp has worked in the watch industry for over a decade, first in distribution and most recently as vice-president of sales and board member for Carl F. Bucherer.

He was also co-founder and CEO of Cyrus Watches from its creation in 2010.

“I am delighted that Laurent has decided to join Montblanc. With his extensive watchmaking expertise he will play a vital role in continuing the successful strategy of rooting Minerva deeply into Montblanc’s watch division, driving the maison’s important watchmaking pillar into the future,” says Nicolas Baretzki, CEO of Montblanc.

Mr Lecamp adds: “I am convinced that the success of Montblanc’s watch division is measured equally by its innovation as well as its strong emotional bond with its customers, press and watch aficionados. I will strive to further build on these two drivers, relying on Minerva’s outstanding heritage, passionate collaborators and an unparalleled craftsmanship.”
