Recycled RWB Porsches used in limited edition REC watches

The dials of the new 44mm watches, limited to 305 pieces each, contain a fragment of raw material from the cars, lacquered and built directly into the design.

REC Watches has partnered with Akira Nakai, the Japanese car tuner and founder of Porsche tuning company Rauh-Welt Begriff (RWB), to create a series of watches for fans of the iconic motoring brand.

Now the new stainless steel RWB Stella and Rotana timepieces contain a piece of metal from Akira Nakai’s personal RWB Porsche 911s.

His Stella Artois 911 was 12 years in the making and was where RWB started, while Rotana was a track-focused 911 Turbo.

Two years in the making, the watches include a black rubber strap with debossed texture, RWB logos
and quick-release system.

The caseback is inspired by the rim of the car it pays homage to, while SuperLumiNova X1 Green has been used on the minute and hour hands.

The mechanical. self-winding pieces promise a 40-hour power reserve and contain 26 jewels each.
