Raymond Weil connects current music stars to their historic musical heroes

Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil was in Ireland this week helping Weir & Sons in Dublin promote a trio of special editions celebrating musical legends.

Craig Leach, UK brand director of Raymond Weil presented three limited edition Freelancer and Maestro timepieces that honour the lives of Buddy Holly, David Bowie and The Beatles to current music greats Louis Walsh, Ian Dempsey and Dave Fanning.

An impresario of the contemporary music scene, Mr Walsh’s roots are in the guitar rifts of Buddy Holly, who is recognised as the pioneer of Rock ‘n’Roll.

Mr Fanning, an authority on music as an Irish Rock journalist, DJ and broadcaster, attributes his love of music as being fostered by The Beatles. In his book The Thing Is … he outlines the five month wait he endured for the band’s Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band album.
