Ulysse Nardin unveils perpetual calendar, the Black Toro.
The timepiece has a black dial, ceramic bezel and rose gold accents. Like other perpetual calendar watches from the brand, the Black Toro features the same movement as its 1996 Perpetual Ludwig perpetual calendar, which was created by Ludwig Oechslin. The model allowed the forward and backward adjustment of all calendar displays over a single crown, eliminating the need to return the watch to the manufacturer in case of setting mistakes. Unlike the standard lever system, the timepiece had a perpetual calendar mechanism driven by wheels and gears.
The movement from this early model now appears in the Black Toro, which features 18n carat rose gold combined with a black dial and ceramic bezel.
The Black Toro is water-resistant to 100 metres and features a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. The watch’s case back is made from sapphire crystal and the wrist strap is available in either leather or rubber.
