Porsche reveals first in-house designed watches

Porsche Design has completed work on the first series of watches that it has designed entirely in-house.

The Chronotimer Series 1 is a collection of four titanium watches, each influenced by Porsche Design icons and designed using the principles of Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, designer of the Porsche 911.

The collection uses mechanical ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph movements with a power reserve of 48 hours and date display.

The collection features a variety of finishes and a choice of leather, fabric or rubber straps as well as a titanium bracelet. Bezels are available in black, titanium or 18ct rose gold while dials are presented in black, carbon fibre or deep blue.

The 42mm watches all follow the design principles of Porsche and the first timepiece he designed for Porsche Design in 1972, the Chronograph I. The use of titanium in the new collection references Porsche Design’s introduction of the world’s first fully titanium watch in 1980.

The Chronotimer Series 1 collection has been entirely designed by Porsche Design Timepieces AG, based in Solothurn, Switzerland, are Swiss made and will be launched in July.
