Swiss watch manufacture Pierre DeRoche is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a piece unique grand complication based around a classic movement.
The open face Pierre DeRoche Reynold houses a hand-wound 1920 LeCoultre 21 lines movement incorporating hour, quarter and minute repeater, chronograph with 30-minute counter, perpetual calendar and moon phases.
The 18ct gold case features a double back and is secured on a matching gold chain. The top-mounted winding crown is set with an emerald with two further emeralds set at the six and 12 o’clock positions on the enamel dial.
The movement was acquired by company founder Pierre Dubois several years ago as part of lot of late 19th and early 20th century LeCoultre movements and ebauches from antique dealer. Pierre’s two brothers run the acclaimed Dubois-Depraz movement module manufacture.
The Reynold is named after Pierre’s watchmaker grandfather Reynold Dubois and the movement used was manufactured in the same year that Reynold began his training under Jacques-David LeCoultre.
