Phillips sends 100% of watch auction proceeds to the Horological Society of New York

Phillips has raised over $80,000 for the Horological Society of New York.

Phillips has raised over $80,000 for the Horological Society of New York.

The funds were taken after an online-only watch auction which saw timepieces by Arnold & Son, Rolex, Grand Seiko and Greubel Forsey go under the hammer.

Seven lots were offered and seven lots were sold as 100% of the proceeds went to benefit the organisations.

Reflecting on the donation, Nicholas Manousos, Executive Director of HSNY, said: “The incredible results from Timepieces for HSNY: Online Charity Auction 2021 will enable HSNY to further expand our annual financial aid programs, including scholarships for watchmaking students and grants for watchmaking schools. Sincere thanks to the amazing team at Phillips and all the enthusiastic bidders.”

While Paul Boutros, Head of Phillips Watches, Americas, added: “Phillips IAWBR was honored and proud to support HSNY’s annual charity auction. Hundreds of clients from all around the world showed interest in the seven timepieces generously donated by leading brands and dealers.

“Achieving over four times the total low estimate, we are delighted that 100% of these lots sold for well above their high estimates with all sale proceeds benefitting HSNY’s mission to advance the art and science of watchmaking.”
