Perrelet is best known for its striking dials with rotating fins based on the turbines of an airplane’s jet engine, but the Swiss watchmaker has gone a little more mainstream for its latest offering, the Lab Peripheral Dual Time Big Date, which the company says shows off its creativity and a boundless spirit of innovation in a different way.
Like the Turbine collection, Perrelet has stuck to its signature “Luxury in movement” story for the latest collection, which offers a more discreet and refined animation on the dial and introduces a new and contemporary casual-chic style.
The Lab Peripheral Dual Time Big Date comes in a 42mm stainless steel cushion-shape case housing a manufacture Perrelet P-421 automatic movement with 42 hour power reserve.
Its three-dimensional watch face in combinations of blue, black and silver, has bold applied baton hour markers, the big date above the centre of the dial and the second time zone on a sub dial at 6 o’clock.
There is a small day/night indication between 10 and 11 o’clock on the second time zone sub dial.
On the underside of the watch, Côtes de Genève decoration on the P-421 movement is on view through a sapphire case back.
The collection went on sale this month with a retail price of CHF 4,980 (c.$5,500).
WATCHPRO Salon
Perrelet is one of the star brands at this year’s WATCHPRO Salon, a showcase of prestige watchmakers and a chance for brands, retailers and press to meet collectors and enthusiasts in 5-star luxury.
The two-day event takes place from November 12 to 13 at The Londoner, a brand new 5-star hotel on London’s Leicester Square.
