People-powered watchmaker CODE41 launches in UK

The company’s democratised creative process allows watch fans to vote on everything from the brand’s logo, to individual elements of each watch and future strategy.

Online-only watchmaker CODE41 has officially launched in the UK, bringing its two-model portfolio with it.

Its current offering, which consists of the Anomoaly-01 and Anomaly-02, was designed with help from the CODE41 community and features movements from Japan and Switzerland respectively.

The democratised creative process allowed watch fans to vote on everything from the brand’s logo, to individual elements of each watch and future strategy.

The company says that the CODE41 community is comprised of 200,000 people who love quality watchmaking and encourages anyone to join the group on their website and share their thoughts and feedback.

The first 941 founding customers of each product can purchase watches that are numbered and engraved with ‘Founding Member.’

CODE41 also says it wants to be committed to being transparent with its community and has subsequently developed a ‘total transparency on origin’ promise which gives customers insight into where everything used for the manufacture came from.

Claudio D’Amore, CODE41 founder and CEO, said: “For us, a great watch isn’t about a brand, or a ‘swiss made’ label. A great watch is the product of the best design and components coming together to make something that’s both high quality and distinctive.”

He added: “I founded CODE41 to create watches of the highest quality at a reasonable price. We want our community and our customers to come on this journey with us, we think this is the best way to create watches that people can fall in love with.”
