Patek Philippe models to impress at auction

Patek Philippe minute repeater Ref 5029 is among the models likely to attract attention at the Antiquorum Auctioneers’ Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces auction, taking place in Hong Kong on June 22.

A collection of Patek Philippe wristwatches will be the highlights of the auction, which is being held at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and will include 626 modern and vintage timepieces.

The Patek models include the Ref 5029, minute repeater in 18ct pink gold, the Ref 5971 Baguette Diamond Bezel in platinum, and a number of rare, collectible tourbillon wristwatches.

The real head turner at the sale will be the Patek Philippe Ref 5029 – a minute repeater in 18ct pink gold, which was made in a limited edition of 10 in 1997 to commemorate the inauguration of the new Patek Philippe manufactory in Geneva. The rare minute-repeating, self-winding, chronometer wristwatch comes with a fitted presentation box, Certificate of Origin, Attestation, COSC certificate, booklets and additional original strap with chronometer tag. It has an estimated price tag of 2,500,000 – 3,500,000 HKD.

Also, among the top lots offered, Antiquorum will present a collection of 75 rare timepieces (lots 552- 626) from the property of a Japanese collector including a Jaeger-LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon 1, a Harry Winston Opus 2 and Patek Philippe Ref 5970 perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatches in platinum and pink gold.

Previews of the auction will take place in New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
