Panerai ups the ante with eight-year warranty extension

Highlight of new care programme is extended warranty terms on models bought within the past two years

Panerai has launched a new care programme that officially extends the warranty on its watches by up to eight years.

‘Pam.Guard’, as the programme has been called, is part of the brand’s strategy to promote deeper engagement with users of its watches.

The portal has been designed in conjunction with its R&D team and allows customers to create a personal profile that then enables them to register their watches online, providing they have been purchased within the past two years.

Customers will receive “unprecedented” access to information on the brand as well as the security of the extra warranty period on eligible timepieces.

Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai, said the initiative represented a “proactive form of engagement with consumers and at the same time a way to strengthen the sense of belonging to the Panerai community”.

He said: “With this long-term vision, extending the international limited warranty up to eight years is a natural, virtually inevitable step. This commitment was made possible by the very high level of technical efficiency and reliability achieved by watches produced by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel.”

The Pam.Guard interface is accessible through multiple devices and formats, and can also be activated at Panerai and authorised retailers’ boutiques.
