New panerai luminor due gmt power reserve 45mm pam964 2

Panerai extends its approachable Luminor Due family of smaller, slimmer, watches

The line launched last year, and has been expanded with a host of additional models for 2019 in 38mm to 45mm sizes. Cases come in titanium, steel and Panerai’s Goldtech alloy.

Panerai has always reveled in its nonconformity, with its oversized watches and bulbous crown guards, but there are signs that the brand wants to widen its appeal, and its Luminor Due line is the arrowhead of that strategy.

The collection is smaller, starting at 38mm and rising to more on brand 45mm pieces.

They remain Panerai to their core, with P.900 manufacture movements — all automatics for the Due family — housed in cushion-shaped cases with their distinctive crown guards.

The line launched last year, and has been expanded with a host of additional models for 2019 in 38mm to 45mm sizes. Cases come in titanium, steel and Panerai’s Goldtech alloy.

The simplest models have hour, minute, small seconds subdial and date on the dials, while the 45mm GMT Power Reserve has both those indicators on show.

Panerai’s historic link to Florence, Italy, is represented in the ‘Ponte Vecchio’ calf leather straps in a range of colours that can be easily changed to create a new look.

Prices range from an entry point of £5,100 for the 38mm steel model up to £13,000 for the Goltech piece.
