Pandora US president makes leap to be Fossil COO

Fossil has announced the arrival of John White as vice-president and chief operating officer at its US headquarters.

White left his role as North American president at jewellery brand Pandora, having held the role for more than five years. White will succeeds Michael Barnes in the chief operating office role. Barnes left Fossil in September 2010 to become chief executive of Signet Jewelers Ltd, owner of UK retailers companies Ernest Jones and H Samuel.

During his time at Pandora White worked as a managing director and a general manager before becoming president.

Fossil is said to be “excited" that White is joining its executive team. A statement from the watchmaking giant outlined White as an "invaluable” asset as it continues to expand its brand globally.

Fossil’s profits have increase in the past two years with its second quarter sales increasing by 12% thanks to its expansion in the Asian market.

White’s position at Pandora has been filled by Scott Burger, former chief operating officer at the North American division of the jewellery brand.
