Oscar-winning McConaughey wears Chopard

 

Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey picked up his best leading actor award last night wearing a white gold Chopard wristwatch.

 

Taking the prize for his performance in Dallas Buyer’s Club, McConaughey selected Chopard’s L.U.C XP Tonneau watch in 18k white gold with white dial and black leather strap. He also wore a pair of onyx cufflinks, set in 18k white gold featuring white diamond pave.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role nominee Bradley Cooper was also wearing a Chopard watch, choosing a L.U.C 1937 Classic.

Pieces from the watch and jewellery maison also featured in the outfits chosen by best leading actress Cate Blanchett, Best Adapted Screenplay nominee Julie Delpy and presenter Penelope Cruz. While Chopard also celebrated its association with The Weinstein Company and cinema at the production company’s Pre-Oscar party.

The company also founded the Chopard Trophy that honours young acting talent at the Cannes Film Festival each year.

Caroline Scheufele, co-president and artistic director of Chopard, said: “I am extremely happy to partner with The Weinstein Company on the most glamorous awards ceremony and cinema festival in 2014 again. This year we have the pleasure to have Harvey as part of the Chopard Trophy jury again, which awards two young acting talents during the Cannes Film Festival.”

The party celebrated the Weinstein films and nominees including Philomena, August: Osage County, The Grandmaster, 20 Feet From Stardom, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and Cutie and The Boxer.
