Oris donates 50 watches to care heroes across the world

Oris launched an initiative last week that aimed to give 10 watches to “Local Heroes” who are supporting their communities and caring for people suffering and dying of Covid-19.

The idea was so enthusiastically received, with more than 400 nominations pouring in within just 48 hours, that Oris will now gift 10 watches per week for the next five weeks.

“What challenging times these are for our world. But a crisis can bring out the best in people. At Oris, we’ve been hugely inspired seeing people care for each other,” the company says.

Oris says it wants to say thing you to Local Heroes who might be doctors, nurses or carers; but also people supporting their families and communities such as bus drivers, sales clerks, food producers, mothers and fathers. “So many people are going the extra mile, sometimes even risking their lives to treat and care for the sick and the dying,” the watchmaker says.
