Omega extends PGA support until 2022

Omega has extended its partnership with the Professional Golfer’s Association of America (PGA) as official patron and timekeeper until 2022

Stephen Urquhart, president of Omega, and Pete Bevacqua, chief executive officer of PGA of America, announced the new agreement at Valhalla Golf Club, in Kentucky, this week at a press conference attended by Omega ambassador Rory McIlroy.

Urquhart said: “We are delighted to extend our agreement with the PGA of America through 2022. With our tournaments in Europe and Asia, Omega has long supported the growth of golf as a global game, and our involvement in the premier events organized by the PGA of America – including the much-anticipated 2014 PGA Championship – has given us a fantastic platform to develop the brand in the important American market.”

Omega’s association with the PGA of America, the world’s largest sports organization with 28,000 PGA professionals who teach and promote the game as well as manage golf facilities, began in 2011.

The new agreement also extends to broadcast advertising around PGA of America championship events, marketing support for the PGA’s player development efforts and support for PGA members and their facilities.

PGA members will have access to an Omega timepiece scheme and a facility clock programme. Branded clocks will also be positioned at PGA Golf properties.

The 96th PGA Championship begins at Valhalla Golf Club today.
