Pop queen Beyonce Knowles has bought her fellow superstar husband Jay Z a luxury diamond-encrusted Hublot Big Bang costing around £3 million as a present for his 43rd birthday.
The extraordinary timepiece, which has been dubbed The $5 Million Watch by Hublot due to its price, is smothered with 1,282 VVS G diamonds.
The blinged-up Big Bang was put on display at BaselWorld this year and was believed to be the most expensive timepiece on display at this year’s show. The watch was later sold to The Hour Glass in Singapore, one of Asia’s premier luxury watch retailers.
Jay Z’s affiliation with Hublot stretches back a number of years, with the iconic watch brand regularly featuring boastfully in his lyrics. However, even by his lavish and decadent standards, this most recent purchase from Beyonce is truly mind-blowing.
With the showbiz couple recently welcoming their newly born daughter, Blue Ivy, into the world, one can only imagine what watch will be waiting for her on his 18th birthday.
