New Nixon VP to launch stores in London and Paris

Nixon has appointed an action sports industry veteran as its new vice president of sales and general manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa who will oversee the brand’s first retail stores, with one opening in London later this year.
Philippe Gouzes, will lead strategy for the Southern Californian brand in the region from its EMEA office in Hossegor, France, and report direct to Nixon’s chief executive officer Nick Stowe.
“Philippe is the perfect executive to lead Nixon’s next phase of growth in EMEA. He brings deep European action sports experience and the ability to drive sales and build a brand in a complex multi-channel environment. He’s a great addition to Nixon’s executive team as we look to double our business and brand reach over the next 3-5 years.” Said Stowe.
Gouzes has most recently worked as senior vice president of international business for Burton, the snowboard brand and before that worked at ski and snowboard brand Rossignol. He will be responsible for growth in the region, expanding its sales and marketing in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the UK. Responsibility for leading Nixon’s direct business will also fall to Gouzes as the brand opens its first European retail stores in Paris and London’s Carnaby Street in the Autumn.
Gouzes will work closely with Arnaud Gaillard, Nixon’s outgoing EMEA general manager, over the next month to ensure a smooth transition.
Gouzes remarked: “Very few brands stand out in the industry, and Nixon is definitely one of those shining stars I’ve looked to since day one. I feel honoured to join such a talented crew and I am looking forward to being part of the brand’s next chapters. In short, I am stoked!”
