New Montblanc Summit 2+ smartwatch update blends luxury and function

The Summit 2+ uses Google’s Wear OS, enabling the making of calls, answering messages and connecting to online services.

Montblanc has released an updated Summit 2+ smartwatch, combining the design of a luxury timepiece with the many functions of a smartwatch.

The Summit 2+ uses Google’s Wear OS, enabling the making of calls, answering messages and connecting to online services.

Contained inside the 43.5mm case are speedometer, altimeter, barometer, compass and GPS functions.

The smartwatch connects to the user’s smartphone, but can access calls, messages and more, even when not in proximity to the phone.

The Google software even offers functions such as a voice-activated translator for when users are travelling abroad. Google Pay can also be used via the watch.

Four different case finishes are available: black DLC steel, stainless steel, rose gold-colored steel or bronze-colored steel.

These can be combined with a variety of interchangeable strap options, and Montblanc claims that the built-in watch face configurator offers over a thousand watch face combinations on the 1.28-inch AMOLED Screen.

Nicolas Baretzki, Montblanc CEO, commented: “Montblanc is taking a bold next step in the luxury wearables sector with its new Summit 2+, offering even more capabilities through Wear OS by Google. Designed to be a powerful daily companion, Summit 2+ links you to the world around you, enabling you to stay active and connected at all times.”
