A new quartz-based watch brand has launched into direct online sales offering its watches on exotic leather straps.
Nelson Martina’s Exotique watch collection includes straps of crocodile, shark, lizard and ostrich leathers with prices ranging from 249-449 euros.
Nadia Pomirleanu, customer experience manager of Nelson Martina, said: “We love watches, however as well as the faces themselves we also have an intrinsic appreciation for the role of the strap. After all, it enfolds the wrist and is clearly the most visible part of a timepiece – the part that we instinctively touch so many times a day. That’s why for the Exotique Collection we decided to use straps that are handmade from luxurious crocodile, ostrich, lizard and shark leathers, in a variation of colours. Created as a power bank, the straps allow wearers to intimately connect with the innate power of these animals.”
The brand seems to have one case design split between two collections in a variety of PVD finishes, one with exotic leather straps and the other with more traditional leather and Milanese mesh options. The watches are stainless steel with Ronda movements and sapphire glass.
UK prices for the Exotique collection start at £259 while the Classic collection features ten models, each under £200.
