Muhle Glashutte unveils Arctic decathlon timepiece

German watch brand Mühle Glashütte has created a special edition timepiece in celebration of the Fulda Challenge – the annual Arctic decathlon hosted in Canada.

The brand is the official timekeeper of the event and based the new watch on its Marinus Chronograph, dubbed a watch that can remain “unscathed” whether it has been worn during surfing, snowboarding, sailing or snowshoeing.

The watch has now been designed in homage to the Fulda Challenge as a special edition 44mm timepiece with black DLC coating, 2.5mm thick sapphire crystal and the ability to stand up to sudden temperature and pressure changes.

This Arctic decathlon takes place every year in the Yukon Territory in Canada with athletes battling against the cold along a 1,500km route, while taking part in individual disciplines which include dog sledding, skijoring and a half marathon at -40?C.

Mühle Glashütte took part in the extreme event for the first time this year as the official timekeeper and has launched the special edition series of 250 Marinus Chronograph models in commemoration.
