Mr & Mrs Smith co-founder and CEO joins board of CHRONEXT

Tamara Lohan MBE, co-founder of the boutique hotel travel specialist, joins a star chamber of executives at CHRONEXT as the company gears up to a public listing later this year.

Luxury watchmakers are lining up to say how they are studying the 5-star hotel business for lessons they can bring to their sales and marketing.

Certified pre-owned specialist CHRONEXT has gone a step further and appointed one of the hospitality industry’s brightest minds with Tamara Lohan MBE, co-founder of boutique hotel travel specialists Mr & Mrs Smith, joining its board of directors.

Ms Lohan is the latest recruit to a star chamber of executives at CHRONEXT as the company gears up to a public listing later this year.

Other appointments this year have included former Facebook CMO, Gary Briggs, and former Tiffany & Co. Chief Brand Officer, Daniella Vitale.

“Tamara’s understanding of luxury products, her access to this community not only in the UK, and her expertise with tech and community-generated content, will be of huge relevance for CHRONEXT as it expands and internationalises,” says Jacob Fonnesbech Aqraou, chairman of CHRONEXT.

Ms Lohan says she is delighted to be nominated to the board of a company with such a great team and exciting opportunities for growth. “As CHRONEXT evolves and seeks to tap into changes in consumer trends, I look forward to working alongside them to help them reach their potential,” she adds.

Ms Lohan co-founded Mr & Mrs Smith with her husband James in 2002.

The UK-based ecommerce company promotes design-led boutique hotels from around the world to 1.5 million customers, generating bookings worth $110m in 2018 from a curated list of 1,300 boutique and luxury hotels plus more than 150 hotel villas and 100 luxury private villas.

She spent over 15 years developing the company’s digital infrastructure as CTO before becoming COO in March 2019, and CEO in April 2020.

She and her husband were awarded MBEs for services to the British travel industry in 2014.
