Christopher Ward has reworked an edition of its C1 Grand Malvern range into a jumping hour timepiece.
The C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour tells the time using a sweeping minute hand and an accompanying aperture at 12 o’clock which displays the hour as a large numeral.
The watch was created by Christopher Ward’s senior designer Adrian Buchmann as an update on the C9. It uses the new case design that the brand is phasing in this year, which has smoother lines and a more tactile form.

The new model comes in a 40.5mm surgical-grade stainless steel case with brushed sides designed to hug the wrist.
The Calibre JJ01 movement is a modified Sellita SW 200-1 that provides a 38 hour power reserve and has been designed and assembled at Christopher Ward’s Swiss atelier in Biel.
Developed by Christopher Ward’s technical director Johannes Jahnke, this mechanism is the most accurate jumping hour complication that has ever been produced by Christopher Ward, the company claims.
The new C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour is available with an Italian Shell Cordovan strap with Bader deployment or a ‘Milanese’ mesh bracelet. Priced at £1,175 it will be available to purchase from exclusively from www.christopherward.co.uk.
