Mondaine throws its weight behind WatchPro Awards again

The brand has been a keen supporter of the WatchPro Awards since its first edition in 2016.

Swiss watch brand Mondaine, which is synonymous with the famous Swiss railway clock, has confirmed its sponsorship of the WatchPro Awards for a fifth consecutive time.

The brand has been a keen supporter of the WatchPro Awards since its first edition in 2016.

Colin Lee, who is the director of sales for Mondaine’s UK distributor, Burton McCall, is thrilled to continue the brand’s association with the biggest night in the UK watch industry’s calendar.

“I’m so pleased to keep our involvement with the fantastic WatchPro Awards with Mondaine and really excited to see it connected with WatchPro Salon, where we will be present with Victorinox. WatchPro have been ‘trailblazers’ in the watch industry for the past decade and long may it continue,” Mr Lee said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again and, as we always do, share stories and drink. With each and every drink the stories get better and better!” he joked.

Mondaine, like most watch brands, had to adjust to life under government-enforced restrictions. “It seems such a long time ago that we were enjoying the Awards night in 2019. The pandemic and subsequent restrictions and lockdowns etc. had quite an effect on day to day business, more so in how we worked as a team and individually. Lots of working from home and video calls, we all experienced ‘furlough’ at some point and our retailers closed for long periods, making the most of online.”

Mr Lee went on to explain why Mondaine is aligning itself with the Ecommerce Retailer of the Year category. “The Ecommerce Retailer category is so topical and so critical for our business over the past two years and is super important in our consumers’ future shopping habits. The last two years of online shopping for us all has been brilliant and the UK online business has got to be one of the best with speedy deliveries and more and more retailers providing a service that you can’t fault. It seemed very appropriate that this was the category for us as it was very much one of the reasons for us maintaining a very healthy business during 2021.”
