Mondaine honours Earth Day with new ecological collection

It forms part of the brand’s internationally acclaimed ecological brand, Essence.

Mondaine has honoured international Earth Day, launching a new conscious collection to draw attention to what the day stands for.

It forms part of the brand’s internationally acclaimed ecological brand, Essence.

Described by the brand as a collection which is to be “treasured” for its sustainability and natural style, the Essence White collection features three different pastel colours of pink, green and white.

Developed using eco-friendly sources, its renewable materials including Rizinus (castor oil) for its case; natural rubber for the strap and recycled PET bottles for its multi-purpose pouch.

The watches are also made with easy-to-change recycled textile straps lined with natural cork that allow the freedom to jump between shades.

The eco-friendly collection launched on April 22nd, the annual date for Earth Day, and retails for approximately $220.

The release also went on to confirm that Lumondi brands are donating $10 for each watch sold in their entire collection to FairVentures Worldwide to help reforest and protect the rainforests.

Mondaine’s goal by partnering with FairVentures is to offset Carbon Emissions by becoming carbon neutral through the process of planting trees.

In November last year, WatchPro reported on how Mondaine had become one of the world’s first carbon-neutral watch brands.

The move fits in line with its “We Care” tagline.
