Swiss brand Mondaine launched a new range called Stop2Go at BaselWorld this week.
The Stop2Go watch puts a little quirk of the Swiss railway system on the wrist – a seconds hand that stops for two seconds every minute.
While that might sound baffling, it is a method used by the Swiss SBB railway for the past 70 years to ensure smooth and absolutely precise departures of Swiss trains.
This system ensures that the seconds hand turns full circle in 58 seconds and then waits at 12 o’clock for the black minute hand to move on.
Other new models released by Mondaine at BaselWorld include a new Bold watch with reversible strap, updates to the Giant line and a slimline 8.8mm new Vintage Automatic.
