Michael Spiers watchmaker aces Rolex accreditation

The Plymouth branch of jeweller Michael Spiers has received Rolex accreditation meaning all four of its stores are now authorised to service and repair the brand’s watches.

Watchmaker Keiran Barrett, from the branch’s watch workshop, successfully completed Rolex’s training and examination in the UK adding to accreditations that he already holds for Breitling, Omega, TAG Heuer, Tissot and Gucci among others.

The course includes training on fault-finding, examining parts for wear or damage, processes of repair, oiling, adjustments, regulating and timing as well as case refinishing and polishing.

Keith White MBE, Michael Spiers managing director, said: “We are delighted that Keiran passed with flying colours and was awarded top of the class. All four Michael Spiers branches across the region are now able to accept Rolex watches for repair and servicing by him. This means customer’s watches remain safely with us and the work can be completed by Keiran in our newly refurbished and equipped on-site service centre.”
