MECHANICAL WATCHES OF THE YEAR: Graham Chronofighter Vintage Nose Art

The term nose art comes from the American penchant for decorating the pointy end of fighter aircraft by the military in the 1940s.

Graham has adopted several characters who became pinups in their own right from the era and placed them on a range of Chronofighter timepieces this year.

Sally, Anna, Lilly and Nina are mascots of precision timekeeping on each of four limited edition chronographs produced in runs of just 100 pieces each.

The glamorous illustrations have become integral to Graham’s point of sale branding and innovative digital advertising as well, giving a message of hope and freedom to its customers.

The art adorns Graham’s classic Chronofighter watch with its oversized chronograph trigger and reset pusher on the side of a 44mm steel case containing the G1747 automatic movement. The watches sell in the UK for £3840.
