Italian watch brand Meccaniche Veloci is pushing into its home market for the first time this year.
Despite being founded in Italy in 2006 the brand has never tried to sell its chunky sports-inspired watches in its home country until now.
After launching the brand its founders looked to export markets to take the watches to and its current best international markets are Germany, Britain, Japan and the US.
Meccaniche Veloci currently has no stockists listed in Italy or any Italian distributor listed on its website but insiders at the group have said that signing up Italian retailers is a key strategy for it in 2012.
