Manchester United star devastated after conman steals his £20,000 Rolex

Premier League footballers are popular among the prestige watch shops of Manchester, so they will have nothing but sympathy for Marcus Rashford, the teenage sensation of Manchester United and England, who had a £20,000 Rolex stolen this week.

The timepiece, believed to be a Rolex Day Date II, was stolen from trampolining centre Jump Nation. Mr Rashford left the watch in the venue’s safe, but a conman convinced staff he was a family member and managed to walk away with it.

Local newspaper reports say Mr Rashford was completely devastated by the loss of his watch. A source said that brought the watch himself and it was considered to be one of his biggest purchases.

The Rolex Day-Date II is fitted with a calibre 3156, designed and manufactured by Rolex. It is extremely resistant to shocks and magnetic fields thanks to shock absorbers and hairsprings created by Rolex. It also has a power reserve of 48 hours.

The Day-Date II case comes in 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold or platinum and has a diameter of 41 mm. It is water resistant up to 330 feet.

A man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the theft, but it is unclear whether the watch was recovered.
