LWS demonstrates diversity of watch retail market

The London Watch Show opens its doors in exactly four weeks on July 2, and is set to welcome a uniquely diverse crowd of British watch retailers.

The profile of over 600 people that have so far registered to visit demonstrates the diversity of retailers that are selling watches in the UK today.

Scores of independent jewellers and multiples including Beaverbrooks, Fraser Hart, H Samuel, Ernest Jones, F Hinds and Goldsmiths are registered to attend the London Watch Show.

They will be joined by buyers from department stores such as Fenwick, John Lewis and Selfridges.

Online fashion giants including ASOS.com, Argos and Amazon will be searching for new watch collections alongside more specialist multi-channel retailers such as The Watch Hut, Watchshop, Watches of Switzerland, Watch Warehouse and The Watch Hospital.

Of huge significance to the 45 watch brands exhibiting at the London Watch Show will be a team of buyers from World Duty Free Group, which represents retail outlets at airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Southampton.

Plus, one of the fastest-growing channels for watch sales – television shopping – will be represented by Bid TV and QVC.

“The past decade has seen the retail market for watches – particularly at the fashion end of the spectrum – transformed beyond recognition. Smart watch brands are adapting to this hugely challenging landscape, and recognise that exhibitions like the London Watch Show are vital to ensure they build relationships with everybody from jewellers to television shopping channels,” said London Watch Show event director, Daniel Malins.

The London Watch Show takes place at Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden on July 2-3. The exhibition is open to business professionals and media only. Please click here to register.
