Rimowa, a luxury luggage business owned by LVMH, is making its first watch cases.
The products are part of the brand’s move into creating more lifestyle accessories under the Rimowa Personal name.
Rimowa ways its watch case will use the same materials and construction as its luggage.
“The Rimowa Watch Case is created as a protective case for the most prized of wristwatches, combining our aluminium heritage with craftsmanship and technical innovation,” the company says.
Rimowa watch cases are made in Italy from high grade aluminium.
They have a minimalist design using an engineered grooved aluminium exterior shell and a microfiber interior with subtle nods to signature features of the namesake luggage.
Up to three wristwatches can be safely stored in the cylindrical cases with padded interiors.
They go on sale for $2,050 from December 3 in Rimowa physical and online stores.
