Luminox joins the carbon craze as its diving watches get lightweight makeover

Luminox has updated its diving watch line with some lightweight carbon editions that will be launched Basel 2018.

The Master Carbon Seal 3800 are oversized at 46mm across, but lightweight thanks to the use of trademarked Carbonox+, a 40% carbon based material.

The watches use a Ronda 715 HH6 quartz movement, allowing for the hours and minutes, as well as the date window at 3 o’clock. The timepiece also utilises Carbonox+ on the unidirectional bezel.

For the Master Carbon Seal, Luminox uses long carbon bars to support the polymers. This construction results in a lighter, stiffer and more durable case.

The dial itself comes in black, grey, olive green, or blue, as well as the choice of a Carbonox+ strap, a grey rubber strap or a grey or blue fabric strap. The dial boasts a chequered effect and minimalist luminous indicators (on the blue variant) and batons.

The pieces are presented in a military style box and are expected to hit shelves for the equivalent of CHF 670 to CHF 700.
