LVMH Watch Week, which took place in Dubai in January, and February’s Inhorgenta exhibition in Munich, look likely to be the only significant events at which media and retailers will see launches from more than one brand this year.
There will be plenty of product launched by e-mail and on Instagram, one suspects.
Historic watchmaker Louis Moinet is going one better by creating what it calls Discovery Days at its Saint-Blaise headquarters in Switzerland.
Over the week from April 30 to May 5, when Baselworld was going to take place, the company is inviting watch lovers, collectors, retailers and media representatives to a showroom at its HQ where its 2020 collection will be launched.
The experience will also be streamed live online so that the public will be able to log-on and view the presentation of the latest creations and media will be invited to online press conferences after which all the information, images and videos will be available to download.
