Lord Sugar tweets support to WatchPro Awards finalist

South-west watch specialist Michael Spiers has the backing of a rather famous supporter as it bids to win one of the top retail accolades on offer at this month’s WatchPro Awards.

The Plymouth-based retailer is a finalist in the Independent Luxury Watch Retailer category and it has none other than Lord Alan Sugar in its corner.

The entrepreneur and star of The Apprentice recently took time out to send his regards to the firm after it was announced that it had made the shortlist.

He tweeted: “Michael, I am pleased to see @MichaelSpiers have been nominated for Independent Luxury Watch Retailer @WatchProAwards 2016.”

As reported by WatchPro here, Lord Sugar is a long-term customer of Michael Spiers and still takes trips from London to Plymouth to look for watches. His most recent purchase from the retailer was an £8,000 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona.

Michael Spiers replied to Lord Sugar from its corporate Twitter account, tweeting: @Lord_Sugar @WatchProAwards really honoured to be nominated for this award. Thank you for your support and hope to see you in-store soon.”
