Longines introduces 1930’s inspired timepiece with streamlined design

The new Longines Heritage Classic aims to reflect the 1930’s aesthetic with its sector dial and a subtle balance of colors and lines.

Longines has introduced the Longines Heritage Classic – taking inspiration from a model typical of the 1930s.

With a streamlined design, the new Longines Heritage Classic aims to reflect the 1930s aesthetic with its sector dial and a subtle balance of colors and lines.

The hour circle, adorned with Arabic numerals and hour markers, appears on a satin-finished silvered disk, while a fine edge, also in silvered opaline, surrounds the hours.

Another significant detail of the dial is the small seconds counter rendered in striated silvered opaline, characterized by its size and position, which remains faithful to the original model.

The Longines Heritage Classic is driven by a new, exclusive calibre (L893.5), and features a silicon balance spring.

This self-winding mechanical movement, developed especially for the pieces of the Heritage line, enables the small seconds display to be located under the central axis for a design that is even closer to that of the historical pieces.

The watch is also distinctive for the diameter of its stainless steel case: 38.50 mm, a contemporary dimension that reflects the elegant pieces of the 1930s.

To perfect this exceptional model, a blue or semi matte black leather strap with beige overstitching adorns the case.

These two variations are joined by a denim-effect leather NATO strap of on anthracite or blue color, while a tool provided with each model makes it possible to easily interchange these straps on a whim.

With The Longines Heritage Classic, the brand says it hopes to “illustrate its ability to honor its past and to add a new timepiece to the Heritage line that will thrill Longines lovers and lovers of classic vintage style.”
