London Watch Show appoints CMJ Media as PR

CMJ Media has been appointed as the media and communications partner for the London Watch Show.

CMJ Media will orchestrate a campaign designed to ensure the UK’s leading magazines, newspapers and websites gain access to the leading watch brands exhibiting at the London Watch Show. The company will also work with the exhibition’s organisers to attract the cream of British retailers to the two-day show.

Rob Corder, director or ITP Publishing Group, parent company of the London Watch Show organiser ITP Promedia, said: “No agency comes close to CMJ Media in terms of their relationships with both the UK’s leading independent and multiple retailers, myriad watch brands and with the country’s most influential watch journalists and bloggers.”

CMJ Media, a full service agency headed up by CMJ executive and watch and jewellery journalist Sarah Carpin, is a specialist in jewellery and watches and works closely with both retailers, brands and the media.

Carpin said: “We jumped at the opportunity to work on the London Watch Show. We know from the conversations we have every day with watch brands, retailers and journalists, how much demand there is for this exhibition. We think we might have a bigger challenge with crowd control than with drumming up excitement about this long overdue show.

“The timing of the London Watch Show, in the first week of July, is perfect. This is when the biggest consumer publications are working on the key pre-Christmas editorial features; plus it is precisely when major retailers are buying their stock for the festive build up.”

The London Watch Show will take place at Freemasons’ Hall in Central London from July 2 to 3. Along with the trade exhibition, there will be special events for press, including the WatchPro Hot 100, a glittering party that celebrates the achievements of 2013’s leading UK industry lights.

London Watch Show now has 18 confirmed exhibitors: Accurist, Ball Watches, Bulova, Casio, Fendi, Festina, Glam Rock, Holler, JunghansJorg Gray, Lulu Guinness, Metal CH, Philip Stein, Royal London Watches, Suunto, Timex, TW Steel and Wryst.

Access to the London Watch Show is strictly limited to pre-registered watch professionals. Click here to learn more and to register.
