Bulgari is using a month-long exhibition at its Bond Street boutique to celebrate the connoisseurship of its haute horlogerie jewelled and grande complication watches.
The highlight of the exhibition will be the public launch of Octo Finissimo, which at 1.95mm is expected to claim the world record for thinnest tourbillon ever made. The men’s wristwatch, first unveiled at Baselworld this year, took four years to create. “It compresses the Octo design into the finest platinum case while retaining all the impact of the iconic Bulgari design,” the company states.
The Bulgari exhibition, which runs from 29th September to 24th October at the London home of the luxury maison, will include historic timepieces such as Bulgari’s first chiming watch, the Anfiteatro Repetition Minutes and more contemporary pieces its Serpenti watches.
Rare and one-off pieces on display will include the new chiming L’Ammiraglio del Tempo, (The Admiral of Time), a four hammer and gong Westminster carillon repetition minute, with détente escapement, a constant force mechanism and secret activation lever.
“This exhibition, the first of its kind in the world, combines the artisanship of the Bulgari jewellery workshop: Italian style combined with Swiss watch-making. The highlight collection of thrilling grande complications watches are testament to Bulgari’s mastery of elite watchmaking skill and vision applied with the Italian design sensibility which characterises Bulgari,” the company says.
