Linde Werdelin welcomes summer with yellow and blue additions to its Oktopus family

Limited editions are made of 3DTP carbon, a material produced by layering thin sheets of carbon to produce a hard and ultra-light case.

Linde Werdelin is welcoming summer with two additions to its Oktopus family in bright yellow and ocean blue.

They use the Double Date movement developed with Dubois-Depraz, a respected 118 year old family owned complications maker.

The Oktopus Double Date 3DTP is made of 3 Dimensional Thin Ply (3DTP) carbon, a material that uses a proprietary technique of layering thin sheets of carbon to produce a hard and ultra-light case.

“Perfecting the material for the angular Oktopus case took two years of development and prototyping. The result is an extremely scratch resistant and lightweight case – in fact, it is the lightest Oktopus case in existence,” Linde Werdelin says.

The layering technique use for 3DTP carbon also gives the illusion of depth and darkness that complements black ceramic bezel.

There are only 88 pieces each of the blue and yellow models being made.
