Largest watch offer to date at CMJ buyers’ meet

The CMJ buyers meeting, which opened yesterday and will close later today, has had its strongest watch offer to date.

The buyers’ meeting has a trade show-style environment in which supplier members can set up shell scheme stands to show off new products and lines to CMJ retailer members.

The whole show, which also includes jewellery and services companies, was the group’s largest to date, but CMJ director Sarah Carpin said that the buying group was particularly pleased with the strong turnout from its watch supplier members. Among the watch exhibitors at the show were Seiko UK, Peers Hardy Group, Watchfinder, Bering, Casio and Welder.

Carpin said she believes that the CMJ buyers’ meeting is becoming increasingly important for watch retailers, as she claims it offers access to the highest amount of watch brands at a UK show, including large-scale trade shows IJL and The Jewellery Show.

She added: "Many of the watch brands are investing heavily in this show and have taken huge stands and there are a number of new collections launching here ahead of IJL."
